NOAH Football Is National #1

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

Tulsa’s NOAH Jaguars have captured the title of National Champions of Homeschool Football.

The Jaguars were cited as the strongest homeschool team in America’s most in-depth computer rankings system, The Freeman Scoring; used by CBS Sportsline’s MaxPreps.com to formulate a rating for each of it’s 16,000 registered prep football teams.

Of the Homeschool teams in 11-man football, Tulsa was followed by Kansas City’s Christ Prep who landed as a distant second place. Tulsa easily defeated Christ Prep in mid October.

NOAH’s 7-3 record includes competitions with public, private, and homeschool teams. The NOAH Jaguars also defeated the #8 and #9 ranked teams, Springfield Lighthouse Christian and Dallas HSAA.

This is The Jaguars’ 3rd year at the top of homeschool football. NOAH has never lost to another homeschool football team in 4 years of varsity competition. Published Freeman rankings of homeschool teams lists the top ten as:

1 Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool (Tulsa, OK)
2 Christ Prep Academy (Kansas City, KS)
3 Carolina Pride (Charlotte, NC)
4 Columbus Crusaders (Columbus, OH)
5 North Georgia (Canton, GA)
6 Maryland Christian (Bel Air, MD)
7 Central Virginia HomeSchool (Richmond, VA)
8 Lighthouse Christian (Springfield, MO)
9 Dallas HSAA North (Plano, TX)
10 AFC Rangers (Charlotte, NC)

Homeschool football has grown to 46 teams in the past 10 years. There are 5 regional conferences currently established. NOAH is currently negotiating the formation of a Central conference with a postseason tournament planned for the 2010 season.

NOAH is an acknowledged High School institution on web services

NOAH is now accredited by various social networking websites.

The Tulsa World news service posts links, schedules, and team info on their Sports Extra section.

Classmates.com, an alumni & classmate networking service now lists Northeast Oklahoma Association of Homeschools in their services.

The same is true of Facebook & Myspace.

On MySpace, you’ll find Northeast Oklahoma Association of Homeschools listed as a Broken Arrow institution.

Facebook requires current students to verify their association by listing a personal “@noahjags.org” email address.

We are providing email forwarding service to student athletes who request one, using the form found here.

We usually complete email forwarding address requests within 24 hours.

Urgent! Basketball A.D. Needed

Dear NOAH Basketball Families,

I’m sending this note out to inform all NOAH basketball families of a recent change in the leadership of the basketball program. It is with great sadness that I must inform you that Terry Tush has resigned as NOAH Basketball Athletic Director. As I’m sure you all know, the athletic director position, as all NOAH positions, is a volunteer spot that requires endless hours of commitment. Terry’s business has felt the squeeze of the current economic times and he is needing to devout more time than originally anticipated to providing for his family. Terry has lead the program for the past several months with impeccable diligence, care and concern. He has identified our current High School coaching staff, finalized our schedules, appropriated new and improved home game facilities and  has done an overall fantastic job. We hate to lose him. Please be in prayer for Terry and his family as he seeks the Lord’s will.

Our plan moving forward is to have two members of the NOAH board step in to handle any day to day issues over the next couple of weeks, while at the same time opening up the AD position for applications until next Friday, August 21st.. Anyone interested in the NOAH Basketball Athletic Directors position should go the NOAH website, download the “coaches application” complete it, and send it to me at fred@cwntx.com  by Friday, August 21st. Those selected by the Board for final review will then be asked to attend the Tuesday, August 25th board meeting to present a plan and vision for the program. It is our hope to have a new AD in place by September 1st.

Thank you for your prayers and patience as we go through this transition.

SUBSCRIBING TO THIS NEWS BLOG

Welcome to the NOAHjags News Blog.

All athletes and families in NOAH activities are asked to subscribe to this news blog so the leadership can readily communicate essential information to you.

You may read the blog here, through your email, or via RSS logs.

We prefer that you subscribe to the "Feedburner" email list so that we have assurance that we get vital information to you when you need it. The NOAH News Blog won't be filled with redundancy and "fluff", so don't expect a lot of undesirable clutter in your email box.

Thanks for your flexability and tolerance concerning these changes. We value your participation and your support of the home schooled children of Northeast Oklahoma.

The leadership of NOAH (officers and board) all have authorship privilages on this blog and they will be the ones posting further news. I'm just the "architect". I hope the efforts to design this format will be fruitful to our work with the kids.

why have a NOAH organizational Blog

NOAH has been communicating primarily thru our website; http://noahjags.org/ , to empower homeschool families with information to assist in the development of the homeschool student and improve the options in our communities.

The messageboard at the website is now being replaced by team blogs as well as this organizational blog. The email capabilities are much more reliable with blogspot.

It is vital to your family's homeschool communication that we stay in touch with you. Please subscribe to this blog, in addition to your sport blog.

Coaches can immediately contact their teams thru a blog, using a computer, or by phone.

If you wish to be notified via text messages, include your cell # as an email address ( 9185551212@txt.att.net ). Contact your phone company to verify the correct formatting.

We will exercise prudent restraint in how and when we contact you so that redundancy and irrelevance is avoided.
