EXTRA ! NOAH Volleyball Achieves a mighty feat!

The NOAH Volleyball team hosted a very important event, today. Three very impressive and nationally recognized teams met in Tulsa this afternoon for a 3-way meet to establish the early frontrunner status at the postseason National tournament.
Springfield's Homeschool Eagles and Norman's Homeschool Mustangs have been very successful volleyball programs in recent years. The Norman Mustangs were a top-rated team last year.
College Scouts were watching today's events. One D1 recruiter came from Colorado State to see a 6'4" Norman prospect.
National Media were watching and One in particular;  hsLIVE365.com sent a correspondant to wire in updates and color commentary every half hour.

We say this to emphasize the profound impact of NOAH's sweep of the opposition teams.  NOAH won the first match with Springfield, 3-0.
A triumphal Jaguar Varsity team
NOAH then took a breather while Norman defeated Springfield in a very solid display of their finely honed skills.
Then the climatic showdown commenced with NOAH going point for point with the easily-intimidating giants of Norman(their team averages close to 6ft.).
The Jaguars eventually clawed out of the first two games before Norman regained the momentum for the next game and a half. That's when NOAH summoned up all their lagging determination and prevailed to end the best of 5 series by a score of 3-1.
Words cannot fully convey the exhilaration  that the girls of the Jaguar program have experienced this day. And to do so with national media and D1 college recruiting present!
All the athletes and leadership of NOAH can celebrate this milestone of the young Jaguar volleyball program. In just our 3rd year of team participation, a great challenge was met with great heart and excelling talent. This day will be remembered.
NOAH Volleyball's leadership of Athletic Director, RaeAnn Heath, and Coaches, Eddie Redden and Dave Schatzmann have grown the program to 3 squads, competing in Junior High, JV, Varsity.  This year NOAH enjoys one of the finest facilities available; The brand New Auditorium at Christian Chapel, near 76th and Memorial.
Jaguar Volleyball gets little rest, as they are back on the courts in Owasso on Monday, visiting the Rejoice Christian team. Their next home event is Thursday, hosting the Mingo Valley Eagles. Junior High games begin at 5pm, followed by JV, then Varsity at 7pm.

Softball Players Needed

Softball A.D. Rebecca Reynolds reports that the NOAH Softball team had to forfeit last weeks games because NOAH could not field a complete team.

Some unforeseen family circumstances led to players leaving the team.

If you know of any homeschool girls who are interested in suiting up with a varsity team this week, contact The team and make immediate arrangements.
NOAH plays East Central High on Friday.

Remembering Mark Walters

Mark Walters left us this weekend. He died from injuries in a traffic accident.

Mark was an equipment specialist for NOAH teams since 2006.  He also volunteered tirelessly and quietly and blessed the lives of so many.
Mark leaves behind a wonderful family. His kids are very involved in NOAH athletics and in their community.
Please take time to pray for and encourage his wife and kids during this challenging time.
Details of the tragic accident are posted at http://www.cowetaamerican.com/articles/2010/08/14/news/doc4c65b5d648a76390513235.txt
