NOAH Events: June 27th-July 2nd

Here's what's happening:

 Homeschool Graduations are becoming Big Events

Florida Gov. Rick Scott and
 a homeschool graduate
  The New York Times estimate home educators in the United states to number about 2 million, or 3% of all kids of school age. When NOAH organized in 1998 the number was only about 1/3 what it is, today.
  The growing movement is becoming so large that national media is watching the remarkable events that accompany the growing local networks.
   Florida just had a homeschool graduation ceremony of 259 in which the sitting Governor was the keynote speaker. Richmond had a graduating ceremony of 206 students.  Large athletic organizations are rivaling the top public and private schools of their state.
   Social environment remains the top concern by parents, according to the HSLDA, a leading law center committed to homeschooling freedom.

 Jason Taylor Talks About His Homeschool Battles
MVP, Jason Taylor
  NFL defensive mvp, Jason Taylor was in town this month to receive the Henry Iba Award. Jason took time out to talk with the Tulsa World sportswriters about his battle with the NCAA.
   Jason was a valiant pioneer who faced down the discrimination of the NCAA rules which treated all homeschoolers as high school dropouts.
   Jason fought all the way to the supreme court and prevailed! Jimmie Tramel put it this way;
" Taylor memorized the New Testament's entire Book of James as a teenager (his family required him to do it). And this is someone who was forced to jump through a hoop to prove to the NCAA that he had a brain? "

            Please help us "brainstorm" every possible option. We know there are great leaders who are looking for an opportunity to invest in the lives of young people. We value the dedication and experience of all our coaches and hope these opportunities bring a strong sense of purpose and joy to all who give of themselves to develop our committed student athletes. Several past and present NOAH coaches have developed into some of the most highly regarded in prep sports, in Oklahoma.
