NOAH Events: August 1-7

Here's what's happening:

Homeschooled Alumni discuss their New College Football Teams

Several former homeschooled football players gathered in Broken Arrow this past weekend and discussed the coming college football seasons.
  •  NOAH's Malachi Blankenship begins his freshman season with The Tulsa Hurricane as a QB.
  •   Freshman Caleb Gastelum expects to rotate in as a weak-side linebacker for The Oklahoma Sooners.
Malachi & Caleb will be on opposing teams next month when Tulsa University takes on Oklahoma University. The two had little to say about the high-profile match up, but they were very mindful of the challenge and what it means for their teams hopes. The two have been friends for many years.
  • NOAH's Sam Fowler has been a receiver at Evangel University for 2 years, but Sam is transferring this Fall; accepting an academic scholarship to Oral Roberts University, to complete his chosen major at his parents' alma mater.
  •   Sam & Josh Lohn have been rivals-turned-teammates at Evangel for 2 years. Josh, formerly with the Springfield Chargers, said he will be playing Linebacker for Evangel University as a sophomore.
  • Sam & Josh may not be the only homeschool rivals-turned team mates. Josh Lohn's younger brother, Nathaneal Lohn, is heavily considering a scholarship offer to join Malachi at Tulsa University. As a Lineman, Nathaneal has 19 college offers to choose from, according to Rivals.com   Oklahoma is another University he visited and he mentioned his excitement at watching Caleb Gastelum's big performance at the Red & White game this past Spring.
  • NOAH's Anthony Mayberry will be joining the Eastern Oklahoma State Tigers as a redshirt freshman  lineman.
  • Baton Rouge's noted QB, Stevie Douglas, turned down a scholarship from Memphis and signed with Stephen Austin University.
Many other NOAH alumni have opted for other directions and declined scholarships which didn't fit with their life's calling and vocation. NOAH is proud of all our kids and supports their pursuit of excellence in every aspect of life.
Several of the mentioned players were gathered for friend & former teammate Charlie Van Risseghem's wedding, in Broken Arrow.
